Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the main questions we get from Brides-to-Be! These topics and more are covered in our blog posts so make sure you check them out for more in-depth information.
Q: I'm on a tight budget - should we go with a low budget photographer or is it worth it as a 'splurge' item?
A: Our advice is to always consider what your budget is and avoid going over it - but! - if you have room within your budget that can accommodate the photographer of your choice then go for it! See if you can adjust some other items in your budget to facilitate but always try to work within your means. Remember - a wedding marks the start of your life together as a married couple - debt is not exactly an auspicious start!
Q: My entire family wants to come with me to choose a dress, what do I do? I don't want to hurt their feelings.
A: If you can avoid having a huge group with you for your dress appointments, that's always to be preferred. Any episode of Say Yes To The Dress will show what happens when you go with too many people with too many opinions - and it's never in the best interest of the bride. If you absolutely can't manage to avoid taking them with you, consider scheduling another appointment afterwards so that you can go over your choices without the pressure of the big group weighing on you.
Q: Do you think I need to hire a professional planner or coordinator or can I do it myself?
A: It depends on a lot of different factors such as how big or elaborate your wedding is going to be, whether you have competent and trustworthy friends or family you can depend on to assist you. At the very least I would suggest that you hire or designate a very responsible person to do the on-the-day coordination as there are so many things to organise and final payments to give to vendors etc.
