Capturing the Memories
Honestly ladies, the venue and the photographer
pretty much go hand in hand. After all, your photographer of choice is going to
have to be available on the date that you’re planning to set and pick a
venue for. Rule number one, please ensure that your photographer matches your
style, taste and the type of photos that you wish to cherish. A photographer that
is experienced with taking wedding photos and capturing intimate moments vs the
party/personal headshots/jack of all trades photographer would be a more
appropriate choice. At the end of the wedding day, when it has all quickly gone
by, your photos are going to be the most important thing that you are left with.
Reviewing the photographer’s portfolio can
give you an idea as to whether their style suits your taste and how well they
can execute photos at different venues and seasons. Focus on how well they are
able to capture both indoor and outdoor moments and spaces. Major red flag for brides and brides to be; if the photographer you are considering does not have
a professional page or website, you may want to reconsider booking this person.
A portfolio provides some insight into their experience and style, two major things to not
overlook.
Most times a good photographer would
include a complimentary engagement shoot as part of their package. This really
allows the bride and groom to trust and get comfortable with the person
capturing their special day. The engagement photos also provide a beautiful sneak
peek into what a couple can expect on their big day, eliminating any built up
anxiety about what their actual pictures would be like.

ReplyDeletePhotography was one of our 'splurge' items in the budget simply because as you so rightly said, at the end of it all, your photos will what you have as a tangible memento from your wedding! A great photographer can also make any decor faux pas look great in the photos lol.
A major thing to consider when choosing your photog is whether they will actually be there in person on the day or if they will send a representative from their Company! This can be heartbreaking if you fell in love with the main photographer's work and they send someone else.
Also consider whether they will provide you a DVD etc. with your photos on it for eventual printing and framing! Some photogs tend to only give digital and quality can be lost in the downloading process.
