Let's Talk Venue
Weddings can turn into a huge production
and sometimes a bad start to a couple’s financial future. Having a realistic
budget that both parties can agree on and are comfortable with is extremely important
to getting this big day off to the right start. After all, the wedding is one
day but the marriage is intended to last a lifetime. So really, do you want to spend
the month after obsessing about that photo wall or fountain that you HAD to
have, that absolutely no one took a photo in front of? Probably not. Whether you’ve saved, received financial help
from family or otherwise, focusing on what’s important can save you hundreds,
sometimes thousands for a big or intimate wedding.
With that said let’s get right into one of
the most imperative areas of your budget. Venue, venue, venue! Now ladies I
know we can’t wait to get to picking the perfect dress, but locking down your
venue is going to save you that inevitable meltdown when you realize your dream
wedding is not happening at your dream venue.
So how exactly do you narrow down the right
venue? Considering things like your wedding size, style of décor, and time of
the year of the wedding, are pretty good areas to start. We definitely do not
want a banquet hall for a rustic 50-person intimate wedding. Or a small outdoor
space during the rainy months of the year for 250 guests. Check out venue
reviews online, referrals from friends and family or even consider venues you’ve
liked from weddings you’ve attended. For me, finding a venue that shared the
vision of the style of photography that I wanted was crucial. I wanted my
photos to be in a natural and scenic environment, so finding a venue that
seamlessly combined an indoor and outdoor space was perfect.
Remember brides, always look for areas that
can cut cost. Considering venues with package deals that include food, bar and basic décor
such as tables and chairs; can really take you down a couple of dollars. Also, if the majority of your family and guests
are from a particular area, finding a venue within that vicinity is a smart
choice when considering transport cost.
Now that we have a better idea about picking
our venue, capturing the memories to last us forever is priority number 2.

I really have to agree that a venue is one of the most important choices to make when wedding planning! We made sure to do site visits to our prospective venues and when we found 'the one' it was so clear to us that we needed to have our wedding there! Luckily we were able to locate a church nearby for the ceremony and the rest is history :)
