Wedding Blooms
I've realised that this is an area that gets overlooked in all the hustle of preparation. I neglected it myself, and once again, thank heavens for my coordinator. But some special thought should be given where your bouquet, boutonnières and bridal party accessories are concerned. After all, they add a simple yet significant touch to most of your photos.
If you're the type of bride who may not have a clue about flower types and variations, the bouquet decision will have some questions for your decorator or florist. Other brides have dreamt of their bouquet to the very last detail and petal. Luckily, there are only a few things to consider such as wedding color, your style of dress and the shape of bouquet that would compliment your dress best. Other variables include seasonal flowers and cost.
Your bouquet has to work with your dress. It cannot overwhelm nor underwhelm your dress. Don't opt for a dramatic trailing bouquet if you have some waist detail that you'd love to show off. Also your bouquet can cost you a pretty penny if your flowers of choice are out of season. Have your florist suggest a beautiful and affordable option with easily accessible flowers. It's important again that whomever is designing your bouquet has seen your dress or has a swatch to work with. A stark white bouquet isn't the most attractive next to an ivory dress.
You are going to be carrying this bunch of flowers for a significant part of your day. The most ideal bouquet is relatively light and should be uncomplicated to carry around.
Lastly these flowers are going to be some of the most memorable flowers of your life. Make it personal, it's yours and specially made for you, and should reflect exactly who you are. Small broaches, pins and other family cherished heirlooms add a personal and valued touch.
Lastly the groom and groomsmen boutonnières, as well as the bridesmaids' l flowers are an addition to yours. Have them done with a similar style or a contrast that works well with their suits, dresses and the overall wedding theme, color and style.
