The Squad!
It's your big day and we can't wait to have our gang of besties lined up by our side. Bridesmaids are a very sentimental addition to some, but also a very personal choice to most brides. We're going to keep this post simple because that's exactly how this process should be.
There are no rules when it comes to bridesmaids. A bride can have as many as possible or just one. However, if you would like having some special ladies at your side, consider these tips. You really aren't obligated to choose anyone to stand by you on your wedding day. Your bridesmaid or bridesmaids should be a person or persons that you can really rely on and women that play a special and significant role in your life.
The amount can vary but generally having about 3-4 bridesmaids present the least amount of challenges when it comes to co-ordinating dresses and engaging in different pre-wedding events. I personally only had a chief bridesmaid/maid of honor and it was a very uncomplicated and suitable decision based on my wedding size and personal preference.
If you would like a very involved wedding party to assist you with various planning aspects, then a few of your close friends and family will work. Again, think carefully and include persons who are really significant to you and can truly lend the type of support you would require. Your bestie from college who lives in a different country may be close to your heart and you may want to include her, but if you are the kind of bride who needs hands on, constant assistance, including her may be a challenge.
As a bride you will have a lot on your plate. Designate a bridesmaid who is probably familiar with most of the ladies involved, who is organised, and can handle having a few things on her plate as your chief. This would ensure that things like the bridesmaid dresses, shower details and other wedding prep arrangements are taken care of without the process being primarily yours to execute.
